In the near-adjacent future, where synthetic intelligence dawns and an asteroid races toward our solar system, an Agency spy wakes on a sunlit beach—his memory erased, nanites flickering in his veins.
Follow him across Coffin Island as he weaves through a vibrant tapestry of musicians, surfers, and secret agents. Meanwhile, beneath the firmware, a digital domain of desolation beckons him to confront his deepest fears and reaffirm what matters most.
The Cyberdelic Odyssey: Book I – Innocence fuses Southern Gothic sensibilities, cyberpunk tech, and shamanic journeying into something entirely fresh. It stands as both a loving ode to Folly Beach and an interrogation of memory, redemption, and what it means to be human.
About the author, Comfort Creatures:
Aside from being a proponent of blockchain solutions in publishing, Comfort is an advocate for liberating the creative mind across the globe for the next seven generations.
Writing under this nom de plume, he has also co-authored Circumfusion, an adventurous tale written as a love letter to Web3—one which was sent to the moon!
Bootstrapped with degrees from the University of South Carolina and inspired by the healing waters of Folly Beach, he now sets his sights on completing The Cyberdelic Odyssey.
Follow along as Comfort’s lyrical prose and psychedelic language craft thoughtful narratives designed to rip open techno-social wormholes and perform the shamanic dance around the digital bondfire—reminding us that what matters most is each other.
Before Comfort Creatures, there was Chris—a boy who grew into a man without losing his childlike sense of awe and wonder.
After studying literature and philosophy at the University of South Carolina, he washed onto Folly Beach and began his journey.
It was behind the register at Bert’s Market that he found glimpses of his creative vision, later penning the first lines of his work at Chico Feo.
Inspired by the island’s healing waters and vibrant culture, he set out to craft a love letter to the Lowcountry.
A decade later, he presents the first part of what he gleaned from "swimming in the same waters as the mystics and the madmen."
